  • Volunteers are crucial to the work we do – bringing a fresh perspective and much needed resource

At InterAct we deliver support where it is needed most – in the heart of the community. Our work is challenging, but extremely rewarding. Volunteers are crucial to the work we do – bringing a fresh perspective and much needed resource.

We invite you to be a part of InterAct.

This is why we offer people the opportunity to really make a difference to change the lives of young people, young adults, individuals and families living in Essex who are challenged with social disadvantage, disability and isolation.

Whilst we appreciate that most people want to volunteer because they want to make a difference, we think volunteering with InterAct is a two-way experience with benefits for you in return for your time. These include:

    • Meeting new people
    • Having fun
    • Developing new skills and strengths, adding value to your CV
    • Opportunities to undertake relevant training
    • Having your out-of-pocket travel expenses reimbursed

Your interest in volunteering might be because you would like to give back to your local community, support something you believe in, to establish new friendships or develop new skills.  – look no further!

We offer a wide range of volunteer opportunities for you to get involved with, from front line delivery roles such as peer mentoring and group activity support, to helping behind the scenes with admin, marketing, fundraising and gardening.

“Volunteering with InterAct is great because it has given me the opportunity to make new friends and give back to people who need it. It’s also great on my CV as I am looking to get into Youth Work.” Lauren, a volunteer.

“I think they are very friendly and willing to do what I want to do with the activities, and they enjoy it as well” Aaron, a young person supported volunteers in his Circle of Support.

InterAct is committed to safeguarding the welfare of young people, and all volunteers will be subject to clearance by the Disclosure & Barring Service (formerly known as CRB checks).
