Creative learning opportunities for young people age 13-25 - the MTEAM project ran from 2013-2015, with funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and Essex Community Foundation.
Young people went back in time to explore the intriguing history of Moulsham Mill, milling from WWII to present day and Chelmsford’s WWII defences.
Moulsham Mill has played a part in InterAct's story and is where we have been based since 1992.
During the project, the MTEAM group met people who lived and worked here and record their stories. They took part in visits to local museums and places of interest, exploring the River Chelmer as well as carrying out an archaeological dig to excavate a spigot mortar gun emplacement. The group met at Moulsham Mill on Monday evenings during term-time and then planned and took part in extra MTEAM activities during the school holidays.
“Tom has made friends, enjoyed looking deeper into the history of Moulsham Mill and photos from the past and has learned to show respect to the building and staff”
