FREE Training for parents and carers in Person Centred Approaches
Posted 07 September 2016
Cost to Participants: FREE
Target Audience: Parent/Carers of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) – whether or not they have an SEN Statement or Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Aims: To explore the Essex One Planning Environment as a more integrated, person-centred approach to the needs of children and young people with SEND, whether in the context of the assessment and planning processes for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), or in planning other approaches to SEN Support in schools and colleges.
Training Workshops (10.00am-2.30pm): interactive workshops, tailored specifically to parents/carers, which offer the opportunity to explore together how families can participate and engage effectively in the person-centred approaches which underpin the Essex One Planning Environment, using nationally-recognised person-centred planning tools.
The workshop will cover the use of One Planning for the assessment and planning processes relating to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), which are replacing SEN Statements, and as a person-centred approach for planning SEN Support in schools (formerly School Action/School Action Plus).
