InterAct is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This is to be achieved through effective recruitment and retention of well-motivated staff members and volunteers who are suited to, and competent in their roles.
InterAct’s Safer Recruitment procedures include thorough application and interview processes, together with Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance and reference checks.
For successful applicants, there will be an induction process, which includes Safeguarding Training at an appropriate level for the role.
To comply with DBS requirements, InterAct will need to see evidence of the applicant’s identity and home address when the DBS form is completed. We provide a full explanation of the appropriate documentation required for this.
Full guidelines for ID checking are available on the DBS website
